artmaking in fiction

I’m thinking about art about artmaking. My own process is in disarray at the moment, and I am finding solace and guidance in the work of other artists grappling with these questions.

I have gathered some fictional works I have recently enjoyed about artmaking to help me to re-centre the process of artmaking in my own life.

I am working, sporadically, on a novel concerned with artmaking, and it occurred to me that there are so many, and such varied, novels and films that deal with this subject. A feast of delicious artworks. I collected a small sample of some of what I have read and watched recently that could be considered art about artmaking. There is so much more that I could have included.

I am returning, nourished, to my own process.
